Designed by
Francesca Lanzavecchia, born in 1983 in Pavia, Italy, is an innovative designer whose approach is characterized by daringness, eclecticism, and empathy. She earned her degree in industrial design from Politecnico di Milano and pursued a master's in conceptual design at the Design Academy in Eindhoven, graduating with honors in 2008. In school, Lanzavecchia shaped her design vision as a colorful and multifaceted discipline, capable of elegantly shaping the existing with poetic and subversive flair.
Her design philosophy extends beyond functionality, seeing a designer's role as a researcher, engineer, artisan, and life fabulist. With a systematic inclination towards universal design, she works across furniture, product, and interior design, ensuring accessibility for all categories of people and all of their aspirations and idiosyncrasies.
She also co-founded Lanzavecchia + Wai in 2010 with fellow designer and Design Academy student Hunn Wai. Since 2012, she has been the creative director, emphasizing a multidisciplinary approach at the studio based in Pavia and Singapore.
