Cattelan Italia: A Legacy of Italian Design

Based in Italy's Veneto region, Cattelan Italia remains a family business deeply rooted in Italian manufacturing. Giorgio and Silvia Cattelan founded Cattelan Italia in 1979 to create modern furnishings to enhance the home, and today, under the direction of Paolo Cattelan, the company continues its commitment to 100% Made in Italy furniture. What began with marble and glass tables has grown into a complete collection for the contemporary home, bringing the brand's distinctive design approach to every room.

The ability to create cohesive interiors is one of the defining strengths of Cattelan Italia furniture. Best known for dining tables with sculptural bases, the brand also offers dining chairs, sideboards, bookshelves, beds, and lighting. Complementary materials, finishes, and design details allow these furniture elements to work together throughout the home, while giving each room its own identity.

Signature Designs and Collaborations

Giorgio and Paolo Cattelan are the creative minds behind a substantial portion of the Cattelan Italia furniture collection, complemented by collaborations with renowned designers such as Andrea Lucatello, whose iconic Skorpio dining table exemplifies the brand's approach to contemporary design.

With its striking geometric steel base, the Skorpio introduced a new concept in modern dining table design and quickly became one of Cattelan Italia's most recognizable models. In 2015, Skorpio Keramik expanded on the original with a ceramic tabletop, combining the architectural base with a durable, practical surface. This iconic Cattelan Italia dining table demonstrates how expressive design and everyday functionality can coexist.

The Butterfly table by Nucleo+ offers another interpretation of sculptural design. Its sinuous steel base resembles butterfly wings unfolding, with sweeping curves that support the glass tabletop through nearly invisible connections. This ingenious construction creates the illusion of a floating surface, making the base both the table's structural foundation and its most distinctive feature.
